Last stop for the Fast Ferry
Posted by JRat at 12:29 PM on January 11, 2006.
Well, I had a feeling that this would happen. We get a new mayor in Rochester and the first thing he does is shut down the fast ferry. What a wonderful use of tax dollars this was. Ugh!

Man, I'm on an every 4 months or so posting frequency here these days.
Well, I've been rediculously busy here at work lately (which is where I would do most of my posting), so I haven't had a lot of time. That and when I get home, I've been playing World Of Warcraft (hit 60 yet Smurf??

) (Guild Website:
http://emyst.homeip.net).
My main character
Hey, what else am I going to do now that winter has taken full effect here in Rochester?
Hard to believe that this Sunday is Christmas. I just finished my shopping this weekend and did my wrapping (well, bagging, I don't wrap

) yesterday. After listening to Roland's on my visits out to So Cal, I decided to ask for XM Radio this year. Never thought I'd jump on that bandwagon, but I really liked Roland's when we listened to his.
Well, that's about it, next post: March 2006

Heyas

Yep, realize it's been a while since I've written anything on
here. Work has been rediculously busy, which is mostly the reason
why I haven't posted anything here in a while. So, how was
everyone's summer
This summer in Rochester was actually pretty
good, nice weather and not a lot of rain. In fact, it's still 80
degrees outside and that hardly ever happens in October in Rochester.
Let's
see, news with me, I finally traded in my gas guzzling Nissan
Pathfinder and got myself a 2005 Subaru Impreza. It's not a WRX,
but it'll do. The AWD will be fantastic for slip-sliding around
the roads this winter. I traded it in at the perfect time, right
about the day gas started to skyrocket to about $3.30 a gallon
here. That whole situation over Katrina and our government's
response (or lack of response and fantastic job of finding people to
blame while people in NO were starving and dying) is another post
altogether, I'm not going to get into it just yet.
So, I'm
possibly planning another trip out to So Cal on Halloween weekend, I
had so much fun going out there last year around this time, I figured I
may as well try it again
Take care

Hello There
Posted by JRat at 08:34 AM on June 2, 2005.
So, it seems as if Summer has finally gotten to Rochester.
It's been nice and warm here for a bit now. Except on Tuesdays,
since that's golf day
So, what have I been up to?
Well the usual stuff, work has been pretty busy for a while now.
Been playing WoW still, was up too late last night playing
I never thought I'd play a game this much again. Ahh well...
Got
a pretty busy weekend coming up. Going over to my friends' place
on Friday for a regular get together. Saturday morning we have a
tee time at 9:45 AM, which will be a bit rough, hehe. Then on
Sunday, my niece is being baptized, followed by a party at my brother's
place.
Other than that, it's been pretty painful watching
the Yankees this season. I thought they'd be better off with the
pitching they picked up, but Randy Johnson has been mediocre at best
and when the others pitch a good game, the offense doesn't do anything
for them. I hear Torre had an "angry closed door" meeting last
night. That's the first time I've ever heard of him doing that,
this team must be getting to him. Steinbrenner's picking up of
all these overpriced old guys is finally starting to kill the
team. Sure, A-Rod has put up great numbers, but he seems to do it
when they're already winning 6-0. I've seen him come through when
they needed him maybe once this season and never last season.
Contrast that with Gary Sheffield or Hideki Matsui who always seemed to
get the big hit when they need it. Ah well, there's lots of
season to go yet...

Been a While
Posted by JRat at 08:45 AM on May 5, 2005.
Wow, it's been a litte while since I updated this thing, almost 2
months! Well, let's see, nothing really new since the last
time. The snowy, cold misery of winter is now gone and is
replaced by the rainy, damp and chilliness of early spring. I
have been out a few times to play golf which seemed nice after a long
winter.
I thought I had a pretty good chance at a job in LA for a
while there, but it turned out to be another dead end. Sounded
like they wanted someone local most likely, even though my skills
seemed like a dead on match for what they were looking for. Ah
well, what can you do...
Other than that, I've been sucked
into this game World Of
Warcraft. It's a Massively Multiplayer Online
Role-Playing game, the first one I've ever tried. I used to love
the old Warcraft games, so I figured I'd give this a try. This
thing is like crack. A few friends and coworkers play and have
been trying to get me into one of these for a long time and they got me
with this one. The thing that got me the most about it is I can
sit down for an hour or two and get something accomplished, other games
like this, to accomplish anything, you need to play for at least 4
hours straight, and I didn't really want to do that.
Of course, it's nothing like giving Roland a whoopin at Puzzle Fighter
.
